After reading about it on facepunch, I decided to try out the “Map_background” command with an autoexec!
What it basically does is loads up a lan server with whatever map (Including custom ones!) you’ve told it to and put you on spec, and can even run bots- but only if the map has the proper files and such. And, it puts it on waiting for players so the bots can’t finish a round, so some maps don’t let them fight properly or such.
The command to put in the autoexec or console is
“map_background [Any map];tf_bot_add [Any number, ignore this bit if you don’t want bots]”It does increase startup time noticeably from loading a server up, but it’s worth it if you just want eyecandy.
Oh now this is cool. I’m sure a bunch of people (including myself) are gonna want to give this a go!
